Planning Department
The City of Huntington Woods contracts planning services with Carlisle-Wortman Associates.  They provide staff support as well as advise the City Manager and the City Commission on special projects.  As the City Planners, they are involved in amendments and revisions to the City's Master Plan, any re-zoning considerations and community development.  The City also retains a Certified Zoning Administrator on staff.  The Zoning Administrator serves as staff liaison to the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeal, Historic District Commissions and the Construction Board of Appeals.

Pre-application Meeting
Prior to submission of a site plan application, applicants are encouraged to schedule a pre-application meeting with the Zoning Administrator.  At the meeting, staff and the applicant will discuss the preliminary concept for the project and conceptual plans if available.  City staff will explain what portions of the Zoning Ordinance impact the project and the general timeline.  It is an opportunity for the applicant to ask questions before final plans are prepared and to identify any potential roadblocks that might delay the project.  A form to request a pre-application meeting is available here.
